CALLIBER “THE BEREAN EMCEE”

BIOGRAPHY:

Calliber is a Hip Hop Artist/Rapper from the Kingdom of Eswatini that seeks to use the craft of Rap music to convey and discuss with music lovers, the real life occurrences we as people go through every day from the worldview of a rapper who has chosen to put his faith exclusively in Christ alone. Calliber’s musical journey as a rapper began when he used to involve himself in rap in his high school days. It was after he got saved and renewed his commitment to his faith in Jesus Christ, that he decided to restructure his persona as an artist and make rap music that expresses his convictions and faith in Jesus Christ.

One day Calliber heard DJ Afrika Bambataa’s once assert that the 5th element and the foundation of the culture of Hip Hop is “Knowledge”, Calliber believes that “The Fear of The LORD is the beginning of Knowledge” (Proverbs 1:7) and that it is the “Knowledge” of God through His Son, Jesus Christ that will bring meaning and fullness to the culture of Hip Hop at large.

Calliber also believes that such “knowledge” is enhanced by people taking a personal initiative to know God’s Word (The Holy Scriptures) for themselves as the Bereans did in Acts17:11. Calliber’s first mixtape “Kingdom Rap Volume 1 (KRV.1)” was compiled in 2012 as he worked together with a few Swazi artists and Producers that supported his inception into the rap circles, pioneering moves in his home country by performing his music at many church and hip hop functions and acquired the help of radio DJ’s and friends. He has also had his music also featured by substantial local and international artists. US Based Recording Rap Artist; Sick Flo (formerly known as Ric Flo “The Beat Snatcher”) on his project “The Beat Snatcher Vol.2” featured him on the song “More Than A Conqueror” in which Calliber states that that song was responsible for giving him his “breakthrough” in terms of exposing his sound to an international listening audience.

Calliber is also a member of a rap group and brotherhood known as “P1.7” which was inspired by the scripture “Proverbs 1:7” (The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, and fools despise wisdom and discipline). Together, the group has played a role in the pioneering of Christian Rap/Hip Hop in the Kingdom of Eswatini and by God’s grace they have seen their music extend its influence internationally. They have even been featured on credible publications such as US Christian Hip Hop Online Magazine; “Rapzilla” as well as local publications. Together, they are currently working on a project entitled “The Word-Tape“.
